A Wet Dog Needs A Towel In The Car
The dog towel belongs in the car before we leave for Magnuson Park. Not beside the back door. Not on the laundry shelf. In the car.
Magnuson Park’s dog beach is a good stop, but a wet dog turns the ride home into a small upholstery project. I keep one old bath towel folded in the trunk. After the walk, I use it for the first serious pass over the coat and spread it across the seat before the dog gets in.
The towel does not need to be special. A large one works better than a hand towel, and an old towel is easier to sacrifice to sand. I shake it outside when we get home, hang it over the shower rod, and put it back in the car once it is dry.
That last step matters more than buying a nicer car cover. The towel is useful only when it is already there.
