A Costco Rotisserie Chicken Needs A Hot Breakdown

A Costco rotisserie chicken is easiest to use before it becomes a cold bird-shaped brick in the fridge.

The move is to break it down while it is still warm, before dinner gets comfortable:

  • pull both breasts into slices for sandwiches or rice bowls
  • shred the darker meat into a glass container for tacos, soup, or quick pasta
  • put the bones and skin in a freezer bag for stock
  • label the containers before they disappear behind yogurt and berries

This takes five minutes on the cutting board and saves the later fight with cold joints, slippery skin, and the lazy decision to leave the whole thing untouched one more day.

The chicken is already cooked. The actual prep is deciding what future meals it is allowed to become.
