Easy Homemade Bread Recipe
A big kudos to my wife who shared this recipe with me and taught me how to make it.
Ingredients
- 3.5 cups flour
- 0.5 cup flour (set aside for later)
- 1.5 cups warm water (about 100°F)
- 0.5 tbsp salt
- 0.5 tbsp dry yeast
Warm the Oven
Preheat your oven to 110°F.
If your oven can’t go that low, heat it to 200°F, then turn it off once it cools to around 110°F.
Mix the Dough
- Add 3.5 cups flour to a mixer bowl.
- Add warm water, salt, and yeast.
- Mix until combined.
- Add 1 tbsp of the extra flour at a time until the dough becomes one smooth piece (usually 3–4 tbsp).
Let the Dough Rest (1 Hour)
- Take a 5-liter plastic container with a lid.
- Coat the inside lightly with olive oil.
- Place the dough inside.
- Cover with the lid, leaving a small gap.
- Put a towel under the container and place it in the warm oven for 1 hour.
Preheat the Oven to 450°F
Take the dough out of the oven.

Shape the Dough
- Lightly flour the inside of the lid.
- Turn the dough onto the floured lid.
- Gently fold the dough from bottom to top until coated with flour.
- Shape the top like a large dumpling.
- Flip the dough upside down onto non-stick baking paper.
- Cover it with the plastic container while waiting for the oven to heat.
Bake
- When the oven reaches 450°F, score 3 small cuts on the top.
- Place the dough in the oven.
- Bake for 25 minutes.
Cool
Place the bread on a rack or a surface with airflow underneath.
Let it cool completely — then enjoy!
