Language Audio Beats A Flashcard Streak

Flashcards are fine, but the lesson that actually happens is the one I can hear while driving.

My current rule for travel language practice:

• keep the text note in Obsidian
• generate a short audio file
• send it to Telegram at 7:30am
• repeat each phrase three times: normal speed, English translation, two slower repeats

That format works better than a streak counter. I do not need to unlock an app, stare at a tiny sentence, or pretend I have a quiet study block. The first pass tells me what the phrase is. The slow repeats give my mouth time to catch up.

For Italian, this is enough. A few practical phrases every morning beat a giant vocabulary plan that I abandon by Thursday.
