Obsidian Needs A Scratch Note

Obsidian works better for me when it has one deliberately messy scratch note.

Not a daily note. Not a project page. One inbox for the tiny facts that show up at bad times:

• the light bulb size I checked while standing on a chair
• the parking level at Pacific Place
• the Costco item I only remember after leaving the store
• the Telegram message that should become a real note later

The trick is deleting from it. If the line still matters after a day or two, it graduates into the right note. If not, it gets removed without ceremony.

A scratch note is not a filing system. It is a safe place for facts that are too small to trust to memory and too raw to organize yet.
