A Small Shoe Brush Belongs By The Door
Seattle rain makes shoes lie. They look fine until the mud dries into the floor mat, the stroller wheels, or the car pedals.
A cheap stiff shoe brush by the door fixes the timing. Not a cleaning project. Just ten seconds before the dirt gets promoted into the house.
My version:
- brush outside soles before the shoes go on the tray
- keep the brush dry, not under the wet jacket pile
- use it after playground gravel, trail mud, and parking-lot puddles
- replace it when the bristles flatten
This works better than saving the job for vacuum day. Dirt is easiest while it is still attached to the shoe.
