Wilmot Gateway Park Does Two Jobs

Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville is a good answer when the toddler needs a playground and the dog needs an actual walk. Both are in one stop, so I don’t have to choose which member of the household gets the better outing.

My simple plan:

  • Start at the playground while everyone still has patience.
  • Use the open lawn for a snack or a short reset.
  • Put the toddler in the stroller and join the paved Sammamish River Trail with the dog on leash.
  • Turn around early. The walk does not need a destination.

The park also has restrooms, which moves it well above a random playground for a toddler outing. If the kid falls asleep in the car, I can reverse the order: take the trail first, then use the playground if the nap ends before we leave.
